NAPHEI and CAMTEL join forces on digital transformation
On Wednesday 2 September 2026, at CAMTEL’s headquarters, the National Association of Private Higher Education Institutions and Cameroon’s incumbent telecommunications operator signed a framework agreement to support the digital transformation and modernisation of private institutions.
The agreement was signed by Judith Yah Sunday epse Achidi, CAMTEL’s Managing Director, and Dr Francisca Biaka, NAPHEI National President.

What the agreement provides
- 01Reliable broadband connectivity for access to online teaching resources, research databases and digital services.
- 02Campus interconnection, to secure and streamline the exchange of information between an institution’s sites.
- 03Sovereign data hosting, so institutions keep control of their academic, administrative and student data.
- 04Tailored digital solutions matched to each institution’s operational needs.
- 05Modernisation of student management systems.
- 06Support for adopting e-learning teaching methods.
Scope of the partnership
Under the framework agreement, CAMTEL makes its telecommunications infrastructure, technical expertise and technological capabilities available to NAPHEI member institutions. The initiative answers growing demand for reliable digital infrastructure across Cameroon’s education sector.
CAMTEL’s Managing Director, Judith Yah Sunday epse Achidi, said university communities need good connectivity to raise the standard of their teaching and research.
Both parties say they are aiming for a private higher education sector that is better connected, more secure and more efficient, and quicker to adopt new technology. The agreement forms part of Cameroon’s wider digital transformation effort.
Implementation terms (the institutions covered, the deployment timetable and pricing conditions) will be set out by the National Executive Secretariat.
